Every Thanksgiving before my family cuts into the turkey, spreads butter on the rolls, or dishes out the stuffing, I open up to Psalm 100. I choose to read this Psalm of Thanksgiving because it brings gratitude into focus. It turns our hearts to praise the one who provided us with every good and perfect thing before us.
1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Then I remember how so many in our community don’t believe the truth in verse 3. They don’t know that the Lord is God. That’s why Club Christ exists. Every child deserves an opportunity to hear the good news that they are carefully made, uniquely chosen, and dearly loved. Every week our Learning Centers are filled with worship songs, Biblical teaching and corporate prayer. Kids like Marco who prayed the other day, “God thank you. Please keep us safe.”
Wishing you and your family a safe and God-glorifying Thanksgiving!
